Hello and good-bye to our Chaffey-Burke community,
I hope that each of you have enjoyed this year’s time at school. Today, the students will only attend from 9:00 – 10:30 and they will be given their report cards when they leave. Some of you will see that there are no levels of proficiency given for some students or subject areas. If your child is a beginning or developing English Language Learner there may not be any levels of proficiency. Some of your children may not have a level of proficiency for Music as we struggled to find a replacement for a teacher who was away on leave.
Please remember that report cards are a snapshot of the learning your child demonstrated throughout the year, but does not show who your child is. Everyone of our students brings strengths with them and these are not always reflected on the report card. Read this report and encourage your child to build on what they have done well and to challenge them to work on areas that are more of a struggle.
On a personal note, it has been great to get to know all of you and I am looking forward to next year. We will see you on September 5 when all of our students will return for only an hour so we can begin to organize the next school year.
Thanks,
Jeff Hutton
