June is Pride Month, a global celebration of the history, resilience, and achievements of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. It brings together people from all walks of life to honour inclusivity, diversity, respect, and equality.
To recognize the importance of this month the school district office and all Burnaby schools, including Chaffey-Burke, will be flying the Pride flag for one week in June week. You will see the flag outside Chaffey-Burke this week. At Chaffey, the Pride Progress flag willl be flown underneath the Canadian flag as per national protocols.
This flying of the flag will open opportunities for families to have the important discussions about these issues.
